How lenders work with Infact
Why have I been refused credit?
If you're looking at this page you've probably been refused credit. It's a frustrating process, however when lenders decline applications it's based on lots of different things.
Infact doesn't actually decide whether you get approved for credit or not, so the best thing to do first is to find out exactly why the lender made the decision they did and what specific piece of information caused the decision. If we can help you do that we will.
There are many sources of information that lenders use to make decisions about whether to lend to people. Infact can be one of them along with the Big 3 CRAs (Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion) and other data providers.
If a credit provider has said that Infact data was the reason you were declined and you want to understand your credit report, you can request a Statutory Credit Report from us through this website. You can also ask the lender what piece of information specifically meant that they declined you – once you have that you can try to rectify the situation and we can help you do that if it’s in our power to do so.
